Born on 3rd May 1949, entered B J Medical College, Ahmedabad as a medical student in 1967 and became a medical graduate in 1972. Further, he also pursued MD (General Medicine) in 1977 from BJ Medical College only.
With his keen interest in the field of Medical Oncology, he joined GCRI in 1977 as Jr. Lecturer and became "Chief of Medical Oncology" in 2003. He also contributed as Hon Deputy Director to GCRI from 2003 to 2010. During his affiliation at GCRI, he guided plenty of DM students who are successful medical oncologists across the nation today.
His contribution to around 30 clinical protocol trials as Principle and co-investigator is self-explaining for his commitment to advances in the Medical Oncology field. He also has presented around 50 scientific papers at various state and national level conferences.
In addition, he has around 40 publications in various state and national journals and contributed to 3 books as well. He also served as Editor of Gujarat Medical Journal of IMA GSB and the journal achieved noteworthy benchmarks during his tenure as editor.
From 2009 to 2011 he also had the honor to be Dean of Medical Faculty at Gujarat University. For his reformative contributions to the medical faculty, he has conferred the "Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2016.
In 2010 Gujarat Cancer Society shouldered him responsibility as Dean of a new medical college that is GCS Medical College, which under able leadership as Dean got recognized By MCI in 2016 and got permission for many post-graduate courses in the broad specialty of preclinical, Para clinical and clinical branches.
At the state level, he led as President of IMA GSB and the Association of Physicians of Gujarat for different tenures. At the national level also, the Indian Society of Medical and Pediatric Oncology had the privilege to have his services as President. One of the popular and beneficial endeavors of IMA. National Social Security Scheme had the honor to have him as Chairman since 1967.
He is a man of hard work and follows through with his commitments. He believes that friends, faculty members, guiders, elders, mentors, and advisors have not loved him but considered him capable of doing what they wanted to accomplish. They made him responsible for doing his best and helped him continuously.
